Taxco Pink Jacket
This jacket pays homage to La Bella Taxco, a quaint town nestled deep in the mountains of Guerrero. The stunning landscape of Tierra Caliente inspired William Spratling, an artist and architect, to establish his silver workshop, attracting famous figures such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Tina Modotti to this picturesque place. Each piece is uniquely dyed by hand at La Sublime Workshop in Mexico City, using natural dyes like indigo for blue and cochineal for pink - Spratling's personal favorites that represent the region's iconic blue door frames and vibrant bougainvillea. Hand-embroidered with typography and ornamentation from the area, this jacket is one-of-a-kind and cannot be replicated. It is naturally dyed in Mexico using an entirely organic process, resulting in slight variations in color that add to its individual charm. Gentle washing may cause minor fading, but this is part of its natural beauty.
